The Horse Riding School welcomes adults and children of all abilities. Children from 5 years of age can participate in our group lessons.

All horse riding lessons take place throughout the weekend and are grouped by rider experience. Please telephone the office (+353 87 932 2909) for further details and to make a booking. Advanced bookings are strongly advised to secure a place.

Our aim is to teach thoroughly and build skills progressively but always through enjoyment and fun. Our trainers have professional BHS qualifications. All our horses know their job. Clients and horses are carefully matched. There are horses to give confidence to the nervous riders and more challenging ones for those with more experience. Lessons take place in the large outdoor sand schools. Tuition in both flat-work (dressage) and jumping is available. Our mission is to assist people in their pursuit of health and fitness.

Regular group lessons are graded to ensure that people learn with others of similar ability so that everyone can feel comfortable within their group. We cater for the first time rider through to improvers and onto the advanced rider.  The expectation is that classes are progressive so it is usual to have regular lessons. This is true for both children and adults.

Private horse riding lessons are also available, generally at a time to suit the client. These are one-on-one with a teacher so the rider can decide on the focus of the lesson. Private lessons are an excellent way to start riding for the first time or to build confidence, advanced riders can also benefit by working on technical details. School groups are something of a Clonfert Equestrian speciality. Please contact the office for further details.

We have changing facilities on site and offer free tea and coffee to enjoy if you are viewing a lesson. The ‘Foals Fairground’ enclosed play area will occupy the younger children while you wait!

We are currently offering the following  lessons for both Adults and Children:

1 Hour  group lesson €30 – Must be booked in advance as a block of four lessons (€120)

For Private, Semi-Private and 30 minute lead-rein lessons please contact the office for prices and further information.

Due to ongoing  very high demand for lessons, we will require payment for all Weekend Group Lessons if they are missed or cancelled. This will ensure your place is secured. Payment will not apply if Clonfert Equestrian Centre cancel due to weather conditions or if the client cancels due to unforeseen circumstances such as long term illness or injury.
